When I started blogging six years ago (holy moly, can't believe it's been that long), my underlying goal with every post was to empower and encourage my fellow woman to live her best life. Whether it be through humor, venting about boys or tough talks about tough friendships- the mission has always been the same. While this space of mine has been heavily focused on day-to-day advice, style and encouragement- I've been really working to expand the conversation to other areas of health. Having a good attitude and the right mindset play a big role in loving yourself and digging your life, but spiritual, mental and physical health also crucial.
Over the past few months, I've talked a lot about Whole30 (woooo for my third round in May), my personal relationship with the Lord and ideas about growing yours. While those conversations are growing and flourishing, I think this is the perfect time to bring someone in who I admire and respect to talk fitness. Danielle Martin is a gem, and I love her spirit, style, grace and everything else. However, for this purpose, it's important to note that she is passionate about fitness. She talks the talk but also walks the walk.
She recently started an Instagram account called @getfitwithdanijayy where she posts workouts, meal prep inspo and encouragement to get active. She was gracious enough to agree to work with me to provide workouts for Life in Glitter. I am humbled and ecstatic to work with her, and I hope you'll really go all in with the workouts she provides, because she is a walking testament that they work. I will be posting healthy recipes weekly (for the month of May, they will be Whole30 meals), and she will provide weekly workouts.
Recipes will be posted on Fridays to give you time to grocery shop and meal prep. Workouts will be posted on Mondays.

My name is Danielle J Martin. I'm 23, and I am from Long Island, New York. I am currently pursuing a career in sports broadcasting as well as building my own fitness platform. I have been active a majority of my life.
I cheered for 15 years, but my journey with fitness really began when I stopped cheering my freshman year of college and had to find other ways to stay in shape. It started with me going to the gym to stay fit, but I quickly realized I had to be consistent for it to really work.
I started to admire the muscles I was developing, and the way my body started to transform was exciting and attractive to me. I absolutely had no clue about fitness until I gotconsistent and did lots of research on how to maintain, tone, and lose weight quickly.
Another factor that contributes to my passion for fitness is my childhood. I was very uncomfortable with my body most of the time and, though I was cheering, I never felt "pretty" or "beautiful enough." Once I found the key to becoming satisfied and comfortable with myself, I immediately wanted to create a fitness platform for every woman who has ever felt the way I did.
Fitness is important because, as women, how we feel about the way we look tends to impact our self-esteem. I refuse to let negative thoughts stop me from becoming who I really want to be, and neither should you. Also, I think fitness is a great outlet for life's stressors. Living a healthy lifestyle can help you avoid diseases, sickness, and other negative health ailments. Investing in your own fitness journey will impact your work ethic, energy, personal growth, and health.
Don't wait until you're "ready" to start living a healthy lifestyle. The sooner you start the easier it will be. Start now.
