WORK + PLAY

When I lived in Missouri for college, the first few weeks of fall meant snatching the sweaters out of their summer hibernation storage, swapping out my soft pink lippie for deep purple and the clicking of heeled suede booties on the tile of my apartment as I rushed out the door to get to class. Now that I live in Alabama, the first few weeks of fall are actually just an extension of summer: disrespectfully hot, oppressively humid and irrationally sweaty. However, friends, sweaty edges and heavy air are not strong enough to keep me from adding fabulous pieces to my closet for the new season, and they shouldn't stop you either (shout out to all the babes who are doing life in the South).
I love the pieces in the post because they're fun, inexpensive and can be worn this fall...but also stick around for spring and summer. They're also from SoCo & Company, a faith-based online boutique I have completely fallen in love with. Each piece has a special message behind it that's based on a part of scripture. I encourage you to read the the message behind each one. Each item name is a link to where you can read the description and even purchase it, if you love it! Speaking of purchasing, you can now do it with a discount. PRAISE HANDS. All of these goodies, and everything on the site, is 20% off when you use the code MORGAN20. Happy shopping, babes!

Robust Romper ($26)

I called this post "Work + Play" because I think balancing the two when you shop is so important. Yes, we spend a lot of time at work, so our office attire matters. However, if you don't invest in your after-hours apparel, making plans will get more stressful. Trust me, nothing kills a going out vibe faster than feeling like you have nothing to wear. I say all of that to say, this first piece definitely falls in the "play" category. Between the bright red pop, the daringly low neckline and the peek-a-boo pattern in the middle, it's everything sexy and bold.

Like I said, early fall in Alabama is still super warm,so I styled it with silver hoops, black simple pumps and a plum lip. For other hot weather occasions, this romper would be so cute with sandals and a high pony. I could definitely see it working for a good game day fit, if your team's colors have red in them. For fall, when it actually feels like fall, this piece would be so cute with tights and heeled booties. It makes such a statement all on it's own, and I love it. ALSO, if you are concerned about the neckline, don't be. There is a clasp on it to close the top a bit...mine just wouldn't stay shut and I was too hot to fight with it (the struggle was so real, y'all).

I  Walk By Faith ($20)

This skirt works for both work and fun. I actually wore it to work with a black blouse tucked into it, and I got a ton of compliments. It's so slimming and comfortable. It's flattering enough to be paired with a crop top for weekend plans, but long enough to be professional.

In a season often associated with dark hues, I think this is a refreshing pop of color. The floral pattern makes this skirt really easy to carry into spring. It's such a fun piece, and I love how it made me feel slim while also accentuating my curves.

Creme De La Lace ($38)

Now, that it's 2017 and avoiding white after Labor Day is no longer a thing, we can completely appreciate the classy gorgeousness that is white lace for fall and winter. I am all for an LBD, but I have always been a fan of a LWD to shake things up.

I think this dress is so elegant and lovely. It's perfect for any nice event you attend before the temperatures drop too terribly low. I also think it will work well in the summer. I just LOVE lace for fall. The detail in the dress is so pretty, and the white with a dark lip and gold accents are just drool-worthy.

Worthy ($38)

Lastly, we have this: the PERFECT work dress. I think this dress is gorg for any traditional work environment. However, I have to say, it's ideal for all of my ladies who work in television news. It's solid, bright and cap-sleeved for anyone who works in a market where that's preferred. The ruching helps give this dress the right amount of shape. I definitely plan to wear this on the anchor desk

A quick little not about this baby- if you if you tried clicking on the title, you noticed it's not linked to the site like the others. This dress actually sold out. HOWEVER, it will be back in stock toward the second half of October. If you want it, just shoot me message, and I will let the sweet ladies over the SoCo & Company know. You'll still get the discount, and they are throwing in a free pair of earrings for the wait, until the dress is back in stock and ready to ship. Once it's back on the site, I'll put the link up!

I hope you love these clothes as much as I do. Again you can get them 20% off with the promo code MORGAN20. Also, totally check  out the SoCo & Company site for all of the new stuff that's available for fall, especially if you live somewhere where the air is already crisp and cool (I'm jealous).

Sending you all of the hugs and confident strutting, cute outfit vibes there ever were!

With Love & Glitter,

Morgan
